Fluenly Tutor Application & Audio-Based Evaluation Form

Welcome to the application form for becoming an English tutor with Fluenly. This form evaluates your English level, explanation skills, tutoring style, seriousness, and readiness to teach online.

Important: This evaluation mainly depends on audio recordings because we want to assess your real ability to speak, explain, and interact with a learner — not only written answers.

Core Audio Evaluation

These questions are the heart of the evaluation. Record clearly in a quiet place.

Audio Introduction *

Answer in English. Introduce yourself, how you learned or use English, your tutoring/communication experience, why you want to tutor with Fluenly, and what type of learners you can help best.

Spontaneous Speaking *

Answer in English: Many learners study English for years but still cannot speak confidently. Why does this happen, and how would you solve it as a tutor?

Pronunciation & Reading *

Read clearly and naturally: “Learning English is not only about memorizing grammar rules. A good tutor helps learners build confidence, use the language in real situations, and make mistakes without feeling ashamed. Progress comes from practice, feedback, and consistency.”

Explaining Grammar Simply *

Explain the difference between “I work from home.” and “I am working from home today.” Explain it as if you are tutoring an Arabic-speaking A2 learner.

Past Simple vs Present Perfect *

Explain the difference between “I visited Istanbul in 2022.” and “I have visited Istanbul before.” Explain it to a B1 learner in simple English.

Error Correction *

A learner says: “I am agree with you because English is very important for my job.” Record how you would correct the learner naturally without embarrassing them.

Handling a Shy Learner *

Answer in English or Arabic, but be practical: A learner understands English but freezes when speaking. In the first 4 lessons, what exactly would you do?

Mini Lesson Plan *

You have a 50-minute private online lesson with an A2 adult learner. Topic: “Talking about daily routine.” Mention start, vocabulary, speaking, correction, and homework.

Business English Scenario *

Answer in English: A learner works in a company and wants to improve English for meetings. What would you focus on in the first month?

Tutor Judgment *

Answer briefly: What is worse in a language lesson: correcting every mistake, or not correcting mistakes at all? Explain your answer.
